How Intellum Connects AI Roleplays to Its Learning Platform
Most enablement teams already own an LMS. The question they ask about AI roleplays is practical: does practice live in yet another tool, or does it plug into the learning paths people already use?
Intellum answered that for its own sales team. Intellum builds an AI learning platform, and its team integrated Yoodli directly into it. A member of that team shared how it works in a 5-star G2 review. This post walks through what they built and what other teams can take from it when planning AI roleplay LMS integration.
What Intellum Was Solving
The review names a problem nearly every enablement leader recognizes. You can see that a rep finished the training. You can’t easily see whether they understand the messaging well enough to use it with a customer.
Course completion is a weak signal. A rep can click through modules, pass a quiz, and still stumble on the first real objection. Intellum wanted proof of mastery, and it wanted that proof inside the same system that tracks everything else.
That’s the gap AI roleplays fill. Reps practice value propositions, pitches, and objection handling in a safe place before a customer call. The team gets visibility into how well each rep actually performs.
How the Integration Works
According to the review, Yoodli integrates directly into the Intellum AI learning platform. That lets the team add practice experiences right inside its learning paths.
In practice, a learning path might look like this:
- A short module introducing new messaging
- A Tutor session where the rep asks questions and talks through the product
- An AI roleplay where the rep delivers the pitch to a buyer persona
- A graded certification attempt against a rubric
The rep never leaves the learning path. Practice and performance data flow back into Intellum’s broader learning and certification programs, so enablement sees completion and competence in one place.
The reviewer also called out setup. Yoodli’s wizard-based setup and AI support make building new experiences quick, and the integration made it easy to fold them into existing paths.
Why Tutor Mattered
The team started with AI roleplays. Then Yoodli shipped Tutor, and the reviewer singled it out.
Tutor gives reps a lower-pressure way to interact with AI. They can ask questions about a product, practice explaining messaging, and build confidence before a scored roleplay. The review describes it as a good way to reinforce concepts before reps get in front of clients.
That sequence matters in a learning path. Jumping straight from a slide deck into a graded roleplay is a big step. Tutor gives reps a warm-up in between. Loopio used a similar approach and cut demo certification attempts by 67%, as covered in our Loopio story.
The Benefit, in the Reviewer’s Words
The review frames the value as twofold. Reps get more practice and build confidence. The organization gets better visibility into each rep’s actual mastery of the material.
Those two outcomes usually trade off. More practice without measurement is hard to justify. Measurement without practice becomes a pass/fail gate that reps dread. Putting both inside the learning platform gets you the two together.
The reviewer also praised the speed of innovation, noting that new capabilities kept arriving after they started. They said they had nothing negative to report about the product or service.
What to Plan for in Your Own LMS Integration
If you’re connecting AI roleplays to an LMS, a few decisions shape how well it works.
Decide what the LMS should record
Completion is the minimum. Most teams also want the score, the number of attempts, and pass or fail against the rubric. Decide up front which fields matter for your certification records.
Map the handoff
Learners move from a course into a roleplay and back. Test that path end to end before launch. Large organizations with custom learning universities should involve their LMS admin early, because tracking learners across that handoff is the most common place integrations need tuning.
Sequence practice before scoring
Put a Tutor session or an ungraded practice roleplay before any certification attempt. Reps perform better, and your pass data means more.
Use the data in coaching
Scores sitting in an LMS don’t change behavior on their own. Give managers a simple view and a habit of reviewing it. Our post on using AI coaching data in 1:1s covers how.
Know when you need an LMS at all
Some teams don’t have one. A few Yoodli customers run programs entirely in Yoodli, which now supports documents, videos, and audio alongside practice. If you’re weighing that option, see LMS alternatives for sales training.
Where This Fits in a Broader Program
Intellum’s setup follows a model we see across enterprise customers: learn the concept, practice it, then prove it. Yoodli calls that learn, practice, do, and it’s the backbone of most certification programs that stick.
If you’re building one, start with the sales certification program reps finish. For the onboarding version, see faster onboarding and certification with AI roleplay. And for how to scope a rollout across a large team, what enterprise AI roleplay rollouts actually look like walks through the first 90 days.
