Mike Mather has joined Yoodli, the AI Platform for Human Skills, as our Chief Learning Advisor. He was most recently Chief Learning Officer at KPMG US.

If you lead learning or enablement at a large organization, you know the pressure Mike has lived with. Leaders want proof that training changes how people perform, not just how many courses they finish. AI is changing the work faster than most programs can keep up. And the moments that matter most rarely look like past training. Think of a tough client conversation, a high-stakes deal, or a first time leading a team.

Mike has spent his career on that problem. Now he’ll help our customers’ learning and enablement teams solve it.

From consulting partner to KPMG Chief Learning Officer

Mike came to learning the long way. He spent more than two decades as a consulting partner at PwC, IBM and EY. There, he helped Fortune 100 companies transform their HR and learning functions.

He joined KPMG in 2017 and went on to lead its Workforce Transformation and Development practice. In 2023, he became Chief Learning Officer of KPMG US.

As CLO, his job was to prepare one of the country’s largest professional services workforces for the AI age. That meant building the skills its people need to solve their clients’ hardest problems. In 2023, KPMG was named Chief Learning Officer magazine’s LearningElite Organization of the Year.

That mix is rare. Mike has sat on both sides of the table. He’s been the advisor selling learning transformation and the executive accountable for delivering it.

What Mike Mather will do as Chief Learning Advisor

Mike will work directly with our customers’ learning and GTM enablement leaders. Together, they’ll design readiness programs that hold up when the business asks for results.

At KPMG, the people he prepared were in front of clients every day. Readiness for client-facing, revenue-driving roles was core to the job.

He’ll also bring that perspective into our product, the AI Platform for Human Skills. It helps teams build skills through realistic AI roleplays and coaching in the flow of work. Its reporting shows whether people are actually improving.

“Learning and enablement leaders don’t need another place to send people. They need proof that their people are ready,” said Varun Puri, co-founder and CEO of Yoodli. “Mike has run learning at a scale few people ever see, and he knows exactly what these leaders are measured on.”

“For most of my career, the hardest part of L&D was the gap between training and the moment someone actually has to perform, whether that’s in front of a client, a buyer or their own team,” said Mike. “Yoodli closes that gap. I’m excited to help learning and enablement teams show the business what readiness really looks like.”

Welcome to the team, Mike.

Happy speaking!
