TL;DR: Sandler used AI roleplay sales training on Yoodli to turn college students with little or no selling experience into reps who generated real pipeline in 10 weeks. Working with Revelry GTM, Sandler paired its Sandler Selling System training with the Sandler AI Roleplay Coach, built on Yoodli, so participants practiced realistic selling scenarios for 15–20 minutes every day. The results: a 75% average improvement in roleplay scores, $6–8M in combined pipeline, and one participant who generated $3.5M in pipeline and $364K in closed revenue.

Background

Sandler is a global sales training organization known for the Sandler Selling System, its methodology for prospecting, qualifying and closing. Sandler partners with Yoodli to extend that methodology beyond the classroom through AI roleplays, at a scale live coaching can’t reach.

Sandler’s client in this program, Revelry GTM, runs a summer program that places college students with early-stage companies that need help generating pipeline and new business. Sandler trainer Matt Nettleton led the program.

The Challenge

Revelry’s partner companies expected meetings and deals. Its participants, in most cases, had never made a cold call, handled an objection or managed a prospecting conversation. The program had 10 weeks to close that gap.

Classroom instruction alone couldn’t get there. Sales skills are built through repetition, and a weekly session leaves six days without practice. Without a way to rehearse in between, participants would be learning on live prospects, at the expense of the companies they were there to help.

The challenge wasn’t motivation or talent. It was that no classroom-only format could give first-time sellers enough practice, and enough feedback, to perform in 10 weeks.

The Solution: AI Roleplay Sales Training Built on the Sandler Method

Sandler combined its proven methodology with daily AI roleplay sales training, so the skills carried through the whole week instead of stopping at the end of class.

Matt Nettleton taught participants the fundamentals of the Sandler Selling System: effective prospecting, asking meaningful questions, navigating objections and running productive sales conversations. Weekly instructor-led sessions and in-person roleplays built that foundation.

Between sessions, participants spent 15–20 minutes a day in the Sandler AI Roleplay Coach, built on Yoodli exclusively for Sandler. Each session put them in a realistic selling scenario, and Yoodli returned feedback immediately, so they could fix what wasn’t working before their next live call.

“Matt equipped our participants to pick up the phone, engage prospects, book meetings, and, in many cases, close deals.”

— Josh Kline, Founder, Revelry GTM

Through Yoodli, Sandler built a program that:

  • Brought the Sandler Selling System into AI roleplay practice
  • Put every participant in realistic prospecting, objection-handling and discovery scenarios
  • Gave participants instant feedback after every attempt
  • Made daily practice possible in 15–20 minutes, between weekly instructor-led sessions
  • Scored every roleplay so Sandler could track skill improvement across the cohort

Why Sandler Chose Yoodli for AI Roleplay Sales Training

For Sandler, the question wasn’t whether AI could run a roleplay. It was whether a platform could carry the Sandler methodology faithfully and help new sellers apply it.

Yoodli could, for three reasons. First, methodology fit: the coach was built exclusively for Sandler, so participants practiced the Sandler way, not a generic sales script. Second, daily reinforcement: participants could practice every day without waiting for a trainer or a live prospect. Third, proof: roleplay scores gave Sandler a clear view of how much each participant improved. The platform didn’t replace Sandler’s training. It reinforced it.

The Results: What AI Roleplay Sales Training Delivered in 10 Weeks

75% average skill improvement

By the end of the 10-week program, Matt Nettleton saw participants’ roleplay scores increase by 75% on average. Participants practiced for 15–20 minutes a day throughout the program.

From practice to pipeline

That improvement showed up in real selling activity. Across the cohort, participants generated $6–8M in combined pipeline in 10 weeks, showing how AI roleplay sales training can carry over to live calls.

  • $3.5M in pipeline and $364K in closed revenue. One participant generated both for a premium camper-van manufacturer, across two closed deals.
  • 8 meetings and $153K in pipeline. Another participant built that pipeline for a security services company.
  • A full-time job offer before graduation. A third participant built prospecting campaigns, developed his cold-calling skills and was hired into a revenue engineering and sales role before finishing college.

“I’m so excited to go to an interview and say, ‘Look, I’ve already sourced 8,000 contacts for you. They’re all your ICP, and I’ve got an email campaign loaded up. Should I start work tomorrow?’”

— Zach, Revelry GTM program participant

The Outcome

The program did more than teach a methodology. It turned first-time sellers into contributors.

Faster sales readiness. Participants went from little or no selling experience to booking meetings and closing deals within a single 10-week program.

Confidence before the call. Participants learned to start conversations, work through rejection and engage prospects more effectively, because they’d rehearsed those moments in practice first.

Practice tied to performance. Rising roleplay scores were accompanied by measurable pipeline and revenue, giving Revelry and its partner companies a clear signal of readiness.

Career outcomes. At least one participant turned the skills he built into a full-time sales role before graduating.

What Successful AI Roleplay Sales Training Partnerships Look Like

This program follows the pattern behind Yoodli’s strongest partnerships. Sales training firms that use Yoodli deliver more value to their clients and extend their impact well beyond the classroom.

  • Lead with the partner’s methodology. Sandler defined what good selling looks like, and Yoodli delivered practice built on it.
  • Practice between sessions, not just during them. 15–20 minutes a day kept skills fresh between weekly instructor-led training.
  • Pair AI practice with human coaching. Daily Yoodli roleplays and in-person coaching from Matt Nettleton reinforced each other.
  • Tie practice to a real business moment. Live prospecting for real companies gave participants a reason to keep practicing.
  • Close the loop with data. Roleplay scores gave Sandler proof of improvement alongside the pipeline results.
